Update:New Policy Early Admission to Kindergarten

On Sunday April 10, 2016 13 girls from the Belmonte Middle and Saugus High School participated in the statewide girls STEM summit at Regis College.  The summit was divided into five workshops from the fields of biology, neuroscience, biotechnology, engineering and the arts in science. The girls had the opportunity to listen to successful women who are experts working in the science field.  They explained what they do and the path that led them to where they are now.  They also participated in a variety of hands on activities that demonstrated what types of things they can expect to know how to do if they enter one of those fields.  The goals of the summit are to inspire girls to continue taking STEM high school courses and encourage them to enter STEM college programs to help fill a gender gap in today's STEM workforce.  The students enjoyed their time and had a positive learning experience
