A BIG SURPRISE

On Monday, February 08, 2010, Mrs. Myra Monto, Vice-Principal of Belmonte Middle School was surprised by an unknown man carrying an oversized check. The man was from Bob’s Discount Furniture, where school librarian, Sharon Hamer, had recently been shopping for comfy furniture for the newly re-opened library. While she was there in January, Ms. Hamer put the school’s name in their monthly raffle for a gift certificate. The mysterious man was from Bob’s, delivering not just the news that Belmonte had won the January raffle, but delivering a check for $1500 gift certificate. This gift will enable the library to create a warm and inviting reading area and make the newly re-opened library a favored destination for many students
